A little about eGuide
The travel research team is led by David Hearle who has flown just under 3 million miles. Ann Williams says our vision at eguide is to be the organisation that best satisfies the needs of travellers seeking high quality, accurate destination information on the internet, and to provide the worlds best digital destination tourist information that is accurate, comprehensive and inclusive. The eguide concept was born out of frustration with existing travel information on the web. Each eGuide contains all the information a visitor would like to find. Using a clean, fast, clutter free design site visitors can find out all they need to know about each destination.
One exciting feature is the downloadable free eGuide for many destinations. This replaces the need for travellers to purchase a travel book. And you only need print the information you want, and do not have to pay for reams of pages which you will never read, a choice not available in traditional travel books.
Each destination uses the location name followed by "eguide.com". For example Sydneyeguide.com or Veniceeguide.com.

Press Release
EGUIDE AIMS TO REPLACE OUTDATED TRAVEL BOOKS
With more than 2 million visitors to eGuide’s International on line tourist information publication it is fast replacing outdated travel books and publications.
Founder and Director of eGuide David Hearle said the electronic publication was meeting market demand for up- to- date content rich, travel information and was fast becoming the leading digital site for travellers.
“As a constant traveller I found guide books were constantly out-of-date, inaccurate and biased so much so that by following a guide book you could easily miss some of the best things to do and places to visit,” he said.
“With a digital guide it can be updated constantly and provide comprehensive information.”
And the recent edition of the Australian eGuide will change the way International tourists and Australians themselves travel throughout Australia, according to Mr Hearle.
The site www.australiaeguide.com.au has been in operation for the past 12 months but now boasts a comprehensive list of 168 destinations from the popular to the more remote and providing detail on locations, accommodation, tours and places to eat.
Accommodation and tours can also be booked through the site and the pages are available in PDF form to print for those who prefer a travel book.
Mr Hearle said he aimed to ensure the site was comprehensive, accurate, inclusive and interactive.
“Initially we set the site up to act as an ‘authoritative’ reference on a location,” Mr Hearle said.
“We wanted to provide the information and let the reader make the decision on where they wanted to go without influencing their decision.
“However we are gradually moving more and more towards recommendations on places to visit and eat as that is what our clients are asking of us.”
As a worldwide frequent traveller, Mr Hearle is now giving other travellers the benefits of his experiences.
His travel exploits cover a list of ticked boxes having survived such adventures as being robbed in Egypt, held up at gunpoint in Pakistan and lost in the Northern Sudan Desert. His travel experience from backpacking to first class luxury makes him a credible authority and he is equally at home travelling pot holed roads in Cambodia to watching the world go by in a rickshaw in Bangladesh.
It was the frustrations Mr Hearle experienced trying to find up-to- date and accurate information when he was travelling to various destinations which prompted him to utilize his travel knowledge and develop the eGuide.
Mr Hearle said the Australian eGuide was the most popular publication followed by the United States and the United Kingdom.
In addition a number of popular Australian destinations are linked to their own eGuide which has substantial information, accommodation and tours.
“The Noosa eGuide has been operating for five years and is currently the most popular Australian site with about 900 visitors a day,” Mr Hearle said.
Other popular sites include the Gold Coast, Sydney and Hobart.
Mr Hearle said the market trend was moving upwards with hits to the eGuide sites increasing by 39 percent over the past 12 months.
“Our aim is to be the largest worldwide digital publishing provider of up to date high quality information in a market dominated by print travel books,” he said.
