About Spirit of Tasmania IV & V

• Spirit of Tasmania is preparing to welcome two brand-new purpose-built vessels, Spirit of Tasmania IV and Spirit of Tasmania V, expected to commence service in October 2026.

• The new ships will replace the current fleet and deliver a significantly enhanced travel experience, with increased passenger comfort, expanded onboard facilities, and substantially greater vehicle capacity.

• Passenger capacity will increase from approximately 1,400 guests on the current vessels to around 1,800 passengers on the new ships. Vehicle lane capacity will also grow dramatically, increasing from 2,565 lane metres to more than 4,000 lane metres — an increase of over 50%.

• The onboard dining experience has been completely refreshed, with a stronger focus on Tasmania’s renowned food and beverage culture. Guests will enjoy a wider range of dining styles, including relaxed bars and cafés, market-style dining spaces, and showcases featuring Tasmanian produce and suppliers.

• Travelling with pets will become easier and more comfortable, with 18 dedicated pet-friendly cabins available, along with secure, climate-controlled kennel facilities designed to improve the onboard experience for both passengers and their pets.
